Westcliffe Primary School

'Our school is committed to inspirational teaching that develops aspirational young people.'

Welcome to 1/2 G!

This term our topic is Toys- Old and New

In History we will be learning about how toys have changed. We will study the similarities and differences of toys from the past compared to the toys we play with today. We will talk about milestone events in our own lives, order them and put them correctly on to a timeline. We will use historical language to describe when things occurred.

In science we will study the four seasons and observe changes as they occur throughout the year. We will compare the weather of each season and describe the similarities and differences we observe.

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday.  Children will need both indoor and outdoor PE kits.

Reading books will be changed on a Friday, but please ensure that reading diaries are in school each day so that we can listen to your child read in school. KS1 compete each week to win the class with most reads. Please listen to your child and sign their diary so we can become the winning class!

We will carry out our 99 Club test in school each week. We ask that you help your child to practise their club sheet each week so that their score improves. We will record their score in home/school diaries each Friday.

Thank you

Miss Green, Miss Heron, Ms Birkwood and Miss Braider.
