Westcliffe Primary School

'Our school is committed to inspirational teaching that develops aspirational young people.'

Welcome back to a new school year!

We are class 3/4N.  Mrs Nicholls is the teacher and is helped greatly by Mrs Hickson.

This term our topic is ‘From Stone to Iron’. We will be learning all about the Stone Age and the changes that happened through to the Iron Age. We will be ‘experiencing’ Stone Age life and will be going on a trip to help the children understand the challenges the Stone Age people faced. We will be looking at settlements, tools, food and family life and how it developed through the period.

Each week we will continue to complete the 99 Club, practice sheets will be sent home on a Friday, please can they be returned the following Tuesday.

Our Library day is Friday and our PE day is also Friday.

Reading books will be changed as needed. If they do, children need to put their books and diaries in the grey box in class, then Mrs Hickson will know whose needs changing. Reading books can be read more than once, and we advise that they are to improve your child’s fluency.

There simply aren’t enough hours in the day to complete all that we would like so please could you help by reading with your child 3 times a week and practising their 99 Club 3 times.
