Autumn Term 2020
This term our topic in Key Stage 1 is ‘Seaside rescue’. During our literacy lessons we will be reading a range of fiction and non-fiction texts including one of our favourite stories ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’.
In geography we will be naming the continents and oceans of the world and the names of the countries of the UK. We will also be comparing a coastal town with Scunthorpe and using geographical vocabulary to describe them. Each day we will record the weather and the temperature. We will discuss the different seasons and how the weather changes.
In History we will be finding out about the life of Grace Darling and what she did that helped to change our lives today.
In art we will be looking at the work of Wanda Edwards. We will be creating our own seaside pictures in her style.
In the second half term in DT we will be designing and making our own seaside rescue vehicles.
PE for 1/2C is
Tuesday – outdoors
Thursday – indoors
Please note reading books for Key Stage one will be changed on Tuesdays and Fridays.
