This term topic What a Wonderful World will take us on an exciting journey! Reading our new class reading book, The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Phillip Pulman, we will make friends with a bright, adventurous girl called Lila.
In Literacy, Lila’s journey gives us an amazing opportunity to explore characters – their personalities and strengths. The book takes us to new, exotic settings that we will describe using prepositions and ambitious vocabulary.
In Numeracy, we are still being challenged as problem solvers, aiming to improve our calculation skills and exploring angels.
In Geography, we will be researching volcanoes, just like the Mount Merapi in Indonesia - featured in The Firework Maker’s Daughter. We’ve decided to make our own volcano models in D.T. that allows us link it to our Science investigation – reversible and irreversible changes.
