WW2 Topic: The Anderson Shelter

Anderson Shelter Experience

We are very lucky to have our own real life WW2 Anderson Shelter on the school grounds. This was installed by our previous caretaker and pupils at the school. Each time we study WW2, Mr Lockwood has the job of cleaning it out and making sure it is safe to use. Mrs Barrett helped out this time – especially with the big spiders! This year we went inside in groups, closed off the day light to experience the dark, cold and cramped conditions. We can only imagine what it must have been like during those fearful times in WW2.
