Instructions for Parents/ Carers of Children in Year 1/2

· School re-opens tomorrow (Thursday 3rd September)

· Only 1 parent/ carer to accompany each child onto the school grounds

· Please use either the Chapman Avenue or Dryden Road entrance to enter & exit the premises and do not remain on the school grounds longer than is necessary

· Children will enter school via their external classroom door. Parents must try to make the handover as swift as possible without the need to enter the classroom

· To keep numbers down we are using a staggered start & end to the school day. You should drop your child off at 8:50am and collect them at 3:10pm

· Please maintain social distancing at all times and respect others’ wishes to do the same especially during the drop-off & pick-up process

· If your child is too distressed to come into class and will not leave your side, staff will encourage them into class but will wear a face covering to protect you as they will need to encroach within 2m

· Parents/ carers will not be able to enter the school building unless by prior appointment

· Any child requiring ‘personal care’ throughout the morning will require the staff to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for their own safety

· Children will be seated at individually at desks which are forward facing. Here they will be encouraged to remain throughout the day. They will each have their own resources (pencil, rubber, paper etc) and these will not be shared with others

· Please ensure that you send some spare clothes into school (underwear, socks, trousers, skirts etc) as some children may find the routine of being back difficult and we anticipate a few ‘accidents’

· Children may bring a named water bottle (containing just water)

· If you have another child in Y3/4 who starts at 8:40am you may bring your younger child at the earlier start time & collect them at 3pm
