Instructions for Parents/ Carers of Children in Year 3/4

· School re-opens tomorrow (Thursday 3rd September)

· Only 1 parent/ carer to accompany each child onto the school grounds

· Please use either the Chapman Avenue or Dryden Road entrance to enter & exit the premises and do not remain on the school grounds longer than is necessary

· Children will enter school via the external stairs nearest the Chapman Avenue entrance. Parents will not be able to escort their children to class. There will be lots of staff outside to assist

· To keep numbers down we are using a staggered start & end to the school day. You should drop your child off at 8:40am and collect them at 3:00pm. If you have a child in another year group you may drop them off/ collect them at the same time

· Please maintain social distancing at all times and respect others’ wishes to do the same especially during the drop-off & pick-up process

· If your child is too distressed to come into class and will not leave your side, staff will encourage them into class but will wear a face covering to protect you as they will need to encroach within 2m

· Parents/ carers will not be able to enter the school building unless by prior appointment

· Any child requiring ‘personal care’ throughout the morning will require the staff to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for their own safety

· Children will be seated at individually at desks which are forward facing. Here they will be encouraged to remain throughout the day. They will each have their own resources (pencil, rubber, paper etc) and these will not be shared with others

· Please ensure that you send some spare clothes into school (underwear, socks, trousers, skirts etc) if you anticipate any ‘accidents’ on your child’s return

· Children may bring a named water bottle (containing just water)
