Welcome to autumn term in year 3/4.

We have a very busy term ahead!

English and Maths will focus on consolidating some of the skills learnt last year before expanding and deepening our knowledge further. We will also be having daily handwriting and times tables lessons to build our knowledge further.

As historians we will be learning all about the Saxons and Vikings. We will use evidence to decide if they were raiders or traders as well as deciding if they really deserve the barbaric reputation they have.

As scientists we will be looking at forces in physics and changing states in chemistry. No doubt there will be lots of investigations ahead for each of those!

General classroom info:

Reading books can be changed throughout the week. If your child’s book needs changing, they need to put their book in the basket in the classroom. Children are expected to read 3 times throughout the week and have their diary signed by an adult. This ensures they will be eligible for our end of term pupil of the week rewards.  

Our TTRockstar days are:

3/4GB – Wednesday

3/4B – Thursday

3/4W - Tuesday

15 minutes practise needs to be completed on TT Rockstars (your child’s login can be found in their reading diary) or they can complete 3 TT sheets, which is the equivalent to 15 minutes. These can be brought in for the class’s TTRockstar day please. Completing their TT Rockstars also ensures their eligibility towards the Pupil of the week rewards.

PE days are:

3/4GB – Wednesday

3/4B – Friday

3/4W - Tuesday

Please bring your PE in on a Monday and leave it all week as other sports activities may happen during the week.
