Welcome back to a new year in 1H
This year we are lucky to have Miss Nicholls and Mrs Marshall in our class to support us with our learning.
During the Autumn term we will be learning about our local area and where we live. As historians we will be finding out about Normanby Hall and how it has changed over the years. We will be going on a trip to Normanby Hall. While we are there we will be taking part in a workshop and then doing some sketching of the hall.
This term in art we will be developing our sketching skills and learning how to use a pencil to sketch a building. We will be looking at the work of David Hockney and L.S Lowry.
As geographers we will be looking at where we live and learning about physical and human features of our environment by looking at maps and aerial photos of Scunthorpe and the surrounding area.
Every day we will be recording the weather and talking about the seasons. We will think about the changes that are happening as we move into Autumn and Winter.
PE for 1H is outdoors on Thursday and indoors on Friday. Please can you make sure that your child brings their PE kit on each day and that it has their name on it.
Reading books will be changed once a week on Friday – your child will bring a book home to read each week. They will also be able to bring home a library book which we will change every Tuesday – please ensure your child brings their library book to school on Tuesday ready to change it.
