3/4EB

Summer Term 2022

Welcome to the final term of this academic year in 3/4EB. This year has absolutely flown by!

Summer term is going to be just as busy with our topic ‘Living Life’. We will be learning all about our bodies: from teeth, to bones, to muscles, to our digestion (there may be a gruesome experiment involved when we look at digestion!). We will also be looking at how we can keep ourselves healthy through self-care and the food we eat, before designing and cooking our own healthy meal. Junior MasterChef here we come!

We will also be learning about our town ‘Scunthorpe’ and why it is described as ‘An Industrial Garden Town’. We will use maps and questionnaires to research our town and local area.

The second half of this term, Year 4s will participate in the Year 4 Multiplication Times Table Check, so there will be lots of table practise happening in school. You can also help, by supporting your child when they practise their club sheets at home, it would be appreciated.

Finally, this term, we will be starting our swimming lessons! The children have been asking since September when they go swimming, so this feels like it has been a long time coming! Lessons will commence on Friday 13th May. The children need to bring a one piece swimming costume/shorts and towel each week. Long hair is best tied up, ideally in a plait or bun please. It should hopefully be really enjoyable for everyone and provide the children with some of the skills needed to swim, as well as provide a lovely end to the school year.
